Five-Four Youth Day New-Media Special (CCTV & Yangshipin App) | Series Producer, Scriptwriter & Post-lead
Project Snapshot
For the 2022 Five-Four Youth Day, CCTV launched “UP Youth” —a three-day, 120-min live programme celebrating campus culture across 100+ Chinese universities.
Each day’s livestream blended studio hosting, real-time call-ins and pre-produced short-form packages (“canned videos”) that acted as pace-breakers, social hooks and Weibo/TikTok shareables.
Purpose
- Inject shareable moments into an otherwise live flow—keeping viewer retention high and fuelling post-show social buzz.
- Provide ready-to-cut assets for CCTV’s Weibo, Douyin and Bilibili channels during the three-day broadcast window.
My Responsibilities
- Creative & Scripting – wrote full treatments, host segues and 30–90 s scripts; aligned each clip with the day’s theme and call-to-action.
- Team Lead – scheduled two-camera field crews across Beijing campuses; secured permits and talent releases under tight holiday timelines.
- Directing & Supervising – guided interviews, live-action plates and motion-graphic overlays; ensured brand tone stayed youth-friendly.
- Post-production – managed editing, sound-sweetening and graphic packaging (lower-thirds, animated supers) ready for playout server.
- Social Hand-off – delivered cut-downs (< 60 s) plus Weibo copy & hashtags for same-night syndication.
Key Outcomes
The insert packages fuelled 880 million impressions and pushed hashtags past 2 billion reads, landing 88 times on national hot-search charts during Youth-Day week.
